I'm always on the lookout for something a little different to make for dinner. This Beef Sukiyaki hit the mark. Serve it with some rice to round out your meal.
Ingredients List
1 1/2 pounds Sirloin Steak
2 tablespoons Vegetable Oil
3/4 cup Soy Sauce (or GF Soy Sauce)
3/4 cup Sugar
3/4 cup Water
2 Onions (thinly sliced)
1 Green Pepper (chopped)
1 cup chopped Celery
1 small Zucchini (sliced)
1 8oz can Bamboo Shoots (drained and chopped)
1 4oz can Sliced Mushrooms
Slice meat into thin diagonal strips, about 3 inches long, cutting across the grain.
Heat oil in a large skillet.
Add meat and brown, turning frequently.
In a separate bowl, stir together Soy Sauce, Sugar, and Water.
Add 1/2 of this to the meat.
Cover and simmer 10 minutes.
Push meat to one side.
Add Onion, Green Pepper, and Celery.
Cover and simmer 5 minutes.
Add remaining sauce, bamboo shoots, zucchini, and mushrooms.
Cover and cook 3 minutes longer.
