Salad has been a staple in our house for the last couple of weeks. It's WAY too hot to turn on the stove, or the oven... so cold salads it is. And there are so many yummy variations and things you can do with a simple bed of lettuce.
Ingredients List:
1 lb Ground Beef
Salt to taste
Pepper to taste
1/4 tst Garlic Powder
1/4 tsp Onion Powder
12 slices of cooked and crumbled Bacon
1 head of Romaine Lettuce (sliced)
1 cup Grape tomatoes (sliced in half)
1 medium Red Onion (sliced thin)
1/2 cup Pickles
1/2 cup Shredded Cheese
Begin cooking Ground Beef in a skillet over medium-high heat.
Add the spices to the partially cooked Ground Beef.
Cook spiced Ground Beef till browned.
Set Spiced Ground Beef aside to cool slightly.
Meanwhile in a large salad bowl, add Lettuce, Pickles, Onions, Grape Tomatoes, Bacon, and Ground Beef to the bowl and give it a good toss.
Drizzle with salad dressing of choice and serve immediately.
Note - clearly, I added olives to mine, which are certainly not a traditional salad topping. But I love them in my salads, so I went for it.
